Howdy fellas, I'm new to the board and hoping to pick your jeep brains!

I recently added an Edelbrock performer camshaft to my amc 360 and after the install all 8 cylinders fired properly and ran great. However, about a week later, cylinder 6 wont fire any more and I'm not quite sure where to start or why its not firing at all.

Any input on where to start looking for the problem would be much appreciated. Driving around with 7 cylinders feels ghetto!

    1st welcome to the board.
Check your wire for #6 yet?
If yes and it has spark pull the vavle cover unplug the coil wire and have someone turn the engine over, watch for both lifters on #6 to move.
Hope you dont have a wiped lobe on the cam. ;)

Thanks for the input! The spark should be good but I'll fiddle around with it tomorrow after work and see what I can come up with.

I would also pull the plug and make sure it is getting spark at the gap.

Problems that develop rapidly are usually lack of fuel or spark, so checking the ignition system would be a good place to start. Since the engine runs, there has to be fuel available. I would next check the compression. If you have compression, spark, and there are no obvious problems with engine reassembly (ie manifold leaks), I'd wonder if the valves are opening, and think about defective parts or improper assembly.

    broken valve spring ?
    broken rocker pivot ?
any and all already mentioned above
I'd remove the valve cover first and take a look
