Two different buggies, one is a 56' as per your chart, the other is 69' per your chart and title, the chart is very helpful, had been looking for a SN on the 56' for a while, also have a 74' Renegade do you want the stuff on it, and what about CJ7's?

9. Dana 44 tapered rear axle.

11. No markers on hood.
12. Yes on windshield washer bag/pump.
13. Single stick T-case.
14. Paint code: 224. (2nd half of tag missing).
15. No cowl mtd. battery box/cover.
16. Yes on body mounted bow sockets.

18. Key start switch, starter mtd. solenoid.
19. 2 wipers, vac. operated.

On my 56' CJ I do not have the firewall SN plate nor a Dash decal with a SN on it, found one on the right rear frame member. If I were to have one made what would the Dash decal look like?

Tim, I sent you an email. If you could email it my way that would be great. I have a '72-'73 decode in the document, but it would be nice to to compare your's to it to confirm it's accuracy. The one that's in the document came from a Jeep parts manual. Thanks!

I updated the document to include more serial numbers from 1967-1971. I also added some trim codes (thanks to Jim - jpflat2a).

To my knowledge, mine is 98% original. However, I think I've got WAY too many springs. 12 leaves front, 13 leaves rear!!! plus some crappy helper coils over the "shocks" from the previous owner. Going to replace the whole lot as soon as the kit arrives, but was wondering if all the leaves were original issue, they all look the same (thickness, width, material, etc.)?

this is the new Jeep we removed the 1969 body from and installed the 1956 body from the buyers trade-in on, per buyers request.

I found a jeep on ebay this morning with a serial# 33 below mine and a Feb 70 build date. mine is now trapped between that one and another with serial# about 300 above mine also with a Feb 70 sticker....



It appears that the $ sink was built in Feb 1970


all around!

Here's another VIN to sort out...I hope someone can help me with it:
8305 S 238640
It's a '60-something V6 CJ5 parts donor. The bulk of the body is gone and I can't find any other numbers on it other than the on the driver's side firewall data plate. The 8305 corresponds with open body, and the 'S' with smog...but the rest doesn't really fit the mold. Any help?
