The new Raybestos drums I ordered from rock auto just came yesterday

they were about $13 a piece (why does everyone else charge $40:? ) Well, my question is, would it be wize to paint them with a high temp paint now, perferably yellow, or are they better without? My old ones the rear was painted and the front ones were not, but the back looked better... I'm not sure if the paint would mess something up or not... If someone could chip in on the effects of paint on these things, that would be great

Paint them black (hi-temp paint), yellow will take away from the vehicle and look cheesy.
Sorry I have never liked drums painted anything but black it looks cheap IMHO, not to mention they will get dirty immediately and will have to be cleaned all the time if painted anything but black.

Don't think it messes up anything, I've been painting them on my vehicles since I was a teenager. I'd say go go it unless someone can convince you otherwise.;)

Hmm, I'm not sure they look that cheezy with the wheels I have, Lets set up a poll, the frount are blackish brown and the back are yellow, which looks better?

Black, not a fan of any brakepart being painted except calipers. And only if the calipers are something special that you should be showing off.

Black or clearcoat. Color looks like the ricer crowd...;)

Color will also distract from your wheels, which I don't like.

I like black but paint what color you want, it's your Jeep. 'Sides you can always repaint it if you think it looks like crap later.:)

I'd definitely paint them, and definitely black. Semi-gloss black to match the rest of the chassis. I'm anal enough that I'd paint the insides too, but NOT the machined braking surface! Mask that off first, and wipe it clean with lacquer thinner after the paint's dry and the tape's off.

Funky colors look bad enough behind nice wheels, but rust looks worse, IMHO.

Paint 'em black . . . . the yellow peeking through takes away from those sweet wheels.

Yeah, I went out and bought my 5 dollar can of paint, so its going to be black... I don't know about painting the inside though... It normaly gets covered with enough brake dust to keep from rusting anyways :D
