:? Hi guys. I have to chime in and say you guys around here sure know your stuff. Thanks for the info on my last posts!

My problem this time is that I have installed a amc 360 out of a 78 cherokee into my 72 cj5. I finally got a chance to fire it tonight and when I turn it over it turns really hard.

When I had this motor out I installed a new timing chain and gears, new gaskets, and new pilot bushing, clutch disc, throwout bearing, ring gear. I am not sure if any of these could be one of the problems, I am new to this motor and jeep stuff so I am learning as I go.

I tried swapping batteries and starters. I finally did get it to start but with open headers for the moment I would be asking for trouble in the city. Need to get pipes on. I have not been able to check the timing because I have been working on it by myself.

Could someone point me in the right direction. if the timing was off would this make it roll over hard?? wiring? pilot bushing screwed up?

any info would be great:? :?

Maybe the timing is too far advanced?

I had that problem with my 258. I put a new starter and solenoid on and it seemed to fix the problem.

    Good luck
