I have a CJ5 with a 360 and bought a universal cable and it is just rigged together with a hope and a prayer. I was wondering is anyone had a jeep like mine and what they did for a throttle cable?

Your parts store will have the length you need, if not 4wd hardware will.

I have a Small Block Chevy in mine. Used an 80's toyota pickup peddle and cable. The peddle is attached to the firewall with 2 or 3 bolts (cant remember) and it has a couple feet of cable.

The one that I had in there was to long which was the stock one. I want to know if anyone has a stock throttle cable that they want to get rid of or know of someone that has one from a jeep that has a 360 in it. The ones that you buy at a store or on the internet are to long and I want one that works.

Try checking with NAPA - I had to get one for my DJ with a Chevy conversion. They had two different lengths available for a CJ so I got the longer one and it fit perfectly. I can't remember what the exact lengths were anymore but they had to order the cable and it took about 3 days.

Is your 360 a 2V or 4V? If it's a 2V, it's exactly the same layout as the 304 CJ, and that throttle cable should work. The 360 and 304 are the same block size, carburetor, etc. Same engine in everything but displacement. I would expect that cable to work for a 4V 360 too.

    Turner's lists them. http://www.thejeep.com/onlinecatalog/p110.htm
NAPA online only shows the 6 cylinder cable.

Also, nothing wrong with a universal cable. Simply cut it to length and apply the right style of ends. Check Summit or Jegs.

I have a universal cable and cut it to length but the end was already done abd it was wrong. It there a kit that has a number of differnet ends that you can use?
