Well i am the proud owner of my first jeep!

My first problem is my rear leaf springs seem to be shot. the Jeep leans back and when you get on it it dips to the back real bad.there is also no bow to the leaf springs any more.

So my question is what is a good replacement for these leaf springs should i try and find some original springs off another 73 or is there springs form another vichile that will work? right now i have 5 leafs in the front and 5 in the back should i stick with that or should i go to a 10 leaf? It also as an leaf over axle lift done to it if that makes a differnece.

    thanks for any help,
    Byron

Mine are rusted together so I have no choice but to get a suspension lift (and thus have new springs!). The catalogs have both OEM and suspension lift springs. Personally I'd get new ones rather than 30 year old springs. Quadratec. The lifts are all throughout but in the rear of the catalog there is a page for stock suspension.

Would i be better off return my springs under axles, and getting springs that have like a 4" lift and some shaggles?

If so how much work would that require?

    Thanks,
    Byron

Honestly, I think you're better off replacing what you have with new. If the spring over is done, all of the other things (driveshafts, etc) have been done as well. Check out 4wd Hardware or Krage Motorsports and see what they have to choose from. At least, that's where I'd start.
