    Jason, how does the "swivel" attach to the GPS? I have a 76C and I like your idea. Did you weld the aluminum yourself? Mig or Tig?

    The gps slides in and if you look in the first pic theres a lever with red on it, it slides over and locks the gps in. All the alum is tig welded.

    We have a hand-held gps that goes in either boat. Didn't want to drill holes for it so we're using strips of velcro. Lo-tech an simple.

    Nice mount. I've got some commercially-made ones of similar construction on my sandrail. I also use a form of velcro to mount my GPS and radio gear on different vehicles. The stuff sticks to itself instead of having seperate "hook" and "loop" sides. It's thick plastic, so it can be drilled and screwed down, and it's so strong you have to use a screwdriver to release it once it's engaged.
