ross box differences

    What is the difference between a 4cyl and a 6 cyl ross box? Does the steering arm stick out further on one than the other? Thanks

    The box is slighlty beefier and larger to accont for the higher ratio worm gear, I would assume the bearings and seals are also slightly larger also.

    Does the steering arm stick out as far? If I use stock motor mounts and frame mounts off of a v6 jeep and stick them in a 4cyl jeep, the steering arm doesn't quite clear the engine block when it travels rearward. Thats why I was wondering if the arm stuck out as far....

    hmm. Didn't think the width of the box was any different. I'll measure wimpy and achilles later and let you know. If anything I'd have thought the 4 cyl was thinner?

    FWIW - the arm on Lulu was VERY close to the block. As a matter of fact, if the engine lugged really hard (like it was about to choke down) it would vibrate hard enough to rattle against the arm. I'm talking like only a resting clearance of about 1/8" between arm and block.

    How close is yours? Any chance of moving the engine to the passenger side by a smidge?

    x4 (all 3 of mine :D) :iagree: Sector shaft seal is diffo size as well.
