Gasket between the air cleaner and the carburetor body. I just know what air horn means - don't know whether it's paper, rubber or none.

Yeah, but I didn't think, at least the F-heads I've worked on, didn't have one, I know what an air horn is.

The air cleaner is mounted on the firewall with the little thing that clamps on top of the air horn. Not saying there's no gasket, I've just not seen one.

I'm pretty sure my '56 had a gasket, it was paper or fiber IIRC. I'm not there to check it out, I probably tossed it during the teardown anyway. Should be pretty easy to make one.

Thought the L-Head was the only one with a gasket-rubber.

Can't tell you how many oilbath filters I have had and I've yet to see one. Imagine dropping that, or pieces of it, into the carb.

Thats strange, because my air horn is real lose around the carb got it as tight as it goes. I'll try and get a pic later. The part I am talking about is # 4.088-4 in the pic above.
