Ok so here's a little background on my setup: When I bought the Jeep, It had a painless kit about half installed, so I finished it up. The Jeep is a 75, but has a 76+ Steering colum installed. Now to the problem, before paint everything worked fine with the taillights (illum, brake, turn signal, reverse), as long as you had the hazard switch pulled out or in, I don't quite remember, and vice versa everything went crazy. The lights were set up with the tail lights on the bottom and the reverse separate on top.

After paint, I went with the taillights with the reverse light built in, the one piece deal. The are hooked up correctly at the rear as far as I can tell, but now when you push the hazards in and cut the lights on they all work correctly until you hit the brake, the the front drivers side marker and parking light go off until you release the brake pedal. Also both turn signal indicators light up on the spedo cluster.

Now, with the hazard pulled out, the front side marker and parking light never come on unless you turn the blinker on and they will flash but flash only. In this case, the left turn indicator on the spedo stays on all of the time.

To my knowledge I did not change any wires when I took the dash out prior to paint, and I had everything labled before disconnecting.

I will add this, In the fuse panel, it does not have a flasher in the hazard slot, it is empty, I only have one in the turn signal slot, and it worked fine before. Oh yeah, and now the reverse lights aren't working, but they were.

    I'm thinking it's:
A: Bad ground, but i called myself checking all of them
    B: Bad Turn signal switch
C: Something to do with the wiring of the different tail lights.
    D: I can't think of anything

My headache is getting worse just typing this, Maybe someone can throw some ideas out there, they would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Dustin

if I recall, with 4 ways activated, and you depress the brake, they all will stop flashing, and light up, including the dash t/s indicators. This would be normal.
your back-up lights should be unrelated to t/s problems, double check the switch and/or connections.
It's possible the t/s switch is bad or just dirty connections if you don't know the history of the column.
I would recheck all the wires, per the Painless manual, and make sure they are hooked correctly. Maybe they are not connected in the correct order at the t/s switch main connector.
The other only possibilites would of course, be the grounds. Try using an external ground wire; maybe the lamp bases aren't grounding to the body thru the new paint.
