I just went down to the 4x4 store to get some parts for my d44 with right side offset. While I was there I bought a WARN full floater Kit with hubs. I thought I had my mind set on a OX locker, but the sales person told me that they have had nothing but trouble with the cables if to small of a radius was needed to clear the tire or install a mounting clamp with the right side off set. So my question: Is anyone running a EATON e-locker. I am running 4.88, model 18, warn overdrive, SM 420 , and a stock Carburtated 4.3 . I do not want to run ARBs Or Detriots. Frontend is a Model 30 With Disc and a Powerlock for now. Any and all information would be helpful.

I spoke with the new owners of OX down at the SEMA show in LasVegas in Novemeber. They have an all new cable system and shift handle that they showed me that they claim solves all of the binding and actuating problems you may have heard of involving OX lockers. I have one in the front Dana44 on my Jeep and have had Zero issues with it.

Thanks for the reply. There seems to be a waiting list for the OX locker.
I have researched the eaton elocker and it seems to be a well built unit.
Just received it today. I will try to up date my progress on installing it as I go.

I've heard of guys having problems with both of those lockers binding and not disengaging. I decided to go with the ARB. Are you installing the e-locker yourself? Let us know how it is to install and set-up. Good luck!

I have a friend who has the Eaton in a front D44. It seems to work well enough. Personnaly if it has to suck, blow or use electricity to work I avoid it. I'm chucking my lock rite in the rear axle for a Detroit this spring. It has worked well for the last 6 years, but I think it's getting a little worn. I can see the advantage of being able to disengage a front locker so you can steer, but not the rear. And Chevyjeep, keep the Powerlok in the front. I've yet to run a trail that's needed more than that for the front. And hey, you can actually steer the thing. I will say I haven't run Johnson Valley, yet. But I've run the best Northern Cal has to offer with the Powerlok in the front. No problem. Put a locker in the front and you better keep some spare axles on hand.

Just recieved the full floater kit today so I will try to get to the install this weekend and keep a log on how well it goes. Pretty straight forward except the pictures in the manual do not match the D44 unit.

Engage: when stationary or at a speed less than 3 MPH
Disengage: When there is no load or blind, May not disengage under loaded conditions.
Do not maintain speeds higher than 20 MPH, undesireable handleing may occure.

My First time useing a full locker so it looks like You just need to be aware of your need to lock ahead of time.

I have only used Power locks in the past.

I will keep you informed on how it goes.
