    BOP Bellhousing *PICS ADDED*

    I have a line on a bellhousing used for mounting a Oddfire V-6 to a T-18/T-15/T-176

My question is Will that same bellhousing work for mounting my T-14 to the V-6?

Found my camera, pics on last page

T-176 is a Ford pattern, so I'd say it's probably T-18/T-150/T-176, with the T-18 being the Ford flavor. These are all the Ford "butterfly" pattern. No, it won't match a T-14.

Is there a bellhousing out there to do this, or will I have to go the AA route... I was trying not to have to do that :(

I believe there are a couple years with the T-14 adaptor on the BH. All the ones I have worked on had an adaptor - including the '70 running gear I have under the '46.

    nickmil In mothballs.

I think '71 the adapter was part of the bellhousing, in other words cast as one piece. R&P had a couple of those bellhousings if you need one. They also have a bunch of the T-14 to buick bellhousing adapters. Give Paul a call at 503-557-8911. Will be much cheaper than AA. Nickmil

    I have a 71 V6 bellhousing with the molded in T14 adapter.
Send me PM or email if interested.

Correct me if I'm wrong guys, but the T14 I sold him has the adapter on it allready. If you get the bellhousing with the adapter molded in, all you should have to do is take off the adapter bolted to the front of your transmission.--and bolt the bellhouse directly to the transmission.
    hope
    that
    helps...

I will double check, I didnt think it had an adapter on the tranny, just the cast steel. Though I didnt look that close, it shifted smooth and looked good, if it makes my jeep move I will be happy... I just have to figure out if the T-14 you sold me is the long or short input... looks like it may be the long but i just looked quick

Can't find my digicam, so I took it to my buddies house, he said the adapter IS on it and I just need a standard BOP to t-18 style housing.

Methinks you need the GM BOP bell, not a T-18 bell.

    michigan_pinstripes I'm not lost, I'm wandering

Measure your bolt holes Looks T90 Std Buick/GM bell

    (Horiz x Vert)
    T14 T15 6.0 x 4.69

    T90 6.25 x 4.125

    T18 T98 8.5 x 4.69

Anything else, post it, I have a pretty good cross reference in front of me

I think it may be the T-18 Style...by those measurements.

Buick bellhousings only have one bolt pattern on them from the factory. It will have a standard GM bolt pattern. The transmission pictured is a t14 with a standard adapter to the Buick Muncie bolt pattern. The t18 would have bolted to the Buick bellhousing using an adapter similar to the one pictured. Any standard BOP bellhousing will work. Steel aftermarket scattershields will have multi patterns. Jon the bolt pattern for a t14/t15 was 6 x 5.75.
