    Just figured I'd throw in my two sense...

    Just bought my first Jeep a month ago. It has not run quite right since I bought It....43 hrs worth of troubleshooting later I have the wrong distributor cap...has a pre 77 HEI with a post 77 cap. I feel dumb. No wonder I go through mufflers.

    heh, at least you figured it out. i have yet to fire up my newly almost installed hei OF so i have no idea what "gremlins" will visit me... ;) hopefully "abbey" will be back on/off the road in a week or so.
