I'm a new owner to a 1974 CJ 5 that I want to slowly fix up. I am looking for a passenger seat bracket. I have the front bar, but not the brackets the seat actually mounts on. Please help.

    Welcome from Boston!

On a '74, the passenger seat is what they call "fold and tumble." The front bracket forms half of a hinge so the seat back can fold down and the whole assembly hinge forward for access to the tool box and so rear seat passengers can enter. There's the front bracket (which you have) and the seat frame that bolts to the seat. The passenger seat is not adjustable. There is also a loop that screws into the floor that a catch on the seat locks into. The catch is part of the OEM seat.

If you want to restore it to stock, there's no aftermarket source for these parts that I know of. There are a couple of big Jeep wrecking yards in California that may have your parts (Scotty's in Fontana and J&W in Antelope), or you can try to find them from a private party seller.

    hth!
