I don’t have anything for front brakes when I step on the pedal. I figured I’d tighten them up a little, but that did nothing to help the situation. I tossed it up on stands and pulled the right passenger drum off. Looks like it had a mud bath, and never worked again. I cleaned it up, then had someone step on the brake. Nothing, no movement at all. Also spun the left wheel, and when the brakes were applied again...nothing...the wheel kept spinning. At this point I’m getting bugged out. What are the odds of 2 bad front wheel cylinders? Could it be a problem with the master cylinder? There aren’t any leaks that I can see. Any ideas? :?

Did you check the front res on the MC? It would definitely be a coincidence if both slaves went out at the same time. If you still got fluid in the res open a bleed screw while someone pushes on the pedal. If the MC is OK fluid should blast out good and strong. If it doesn't or is weak its probably the MC, if it does, well start tearing down your slave cylinders.:v6:

I bet the small aluminum cups inside the wheel cylinders have corrored/rusted to the inner diameter of the wheel cylinder. Rubber cups are still good hence, no leak. It is caused from- mud and water being left in the brakes over time.
New wheel cyl time. I had two that did the same thing to me.

Well, I got the MS cover off late this afternoon and the front res is empty. I'll put some fluid in tomorrow and start watching for leaks. Thanks for the tips guys.

You're at the very least going to need to bleed the front brakes. An empty reservoir will allow air into the lines. Chances are you may need to kit the MC, depends on how long its been dry.:v6: :v6:

    :iagree:

I've stopped using MC and wheel cylinder kits though, because more often than not the bores are pitted beyond use. When you add in the amount of time you spend on the rebuilds, replacing the components looks better all the time!
