Racing seats

Does anyone run those inexpensive racing seats in their Jeep. I'm wondering if that would give some extra leg room since there is less padding. I have "Think Jeep" seats right now and they have quite a bit of padding, but I have very little leg room. Good thing I'm only 6 foot tall.

Any ideas besides notching the wheelwell??? I don't know how to work fiberglass.

    Thanks

Notching the wheel well is probability the only way with out sacrificing a lot of comfort. I notched mine about 3 inches and installed seats out of a Audi s80. Audi seats have a thin back and nice side bolsters. Search WEST SYSTEM on google and they have a nice site that has the basics about working with fiberglass. Its pretty easy ive have been doing it since i was 12.

Me and my overweight 5'11" frame. It is a tight fit but it is drivable.

They were $100 from a junkyard, but they did require some modifications of the seat bracket on the driver side and building a new passenger side bracket. If you look closely you can see that the passenger side is farther forward than the drivers this is becouse i didn't notch the passenger side. I'm about 6 feet tall and have plenty of room.

    Hudson,
What kind of seats are those??? Did you notch the wheelwell??? I'm not too cramped for space, but it sure would be nice to extend my legs a bit. I also sit too high. Dad and I raised the seats as much as we could when this was built, thinking we would gain room. Well, now I feel like I am sitting on the Jeep and not in it. Also makes fitting a cage interesting.
