I'm running a GM alternator on my jeep project, but I can't find one with the clocking I need. I've re-clocked a Ford alternator before by simply removing the bolts that hold the 2 halves of the case together and rotating it to where I needed it. Can I do the same with a GM alternator? I think the answer would be yes, but I wanted to check here first. And in case it matters, its a GM model 12 SI alternator....

Yup. When you have it apart, push the brushes back into their holders and insert a wire thru the hole on the back of the case to hold the brushes down.. Don't forget to remove the wire before you try to run it....
