I've got a 74 CJ-5 and a replacement blower motor from FWD Hardware. They told me that it would be an exact replacement. I haven't looked it over yet, but I hope I don't have to take out the plennum and everything !! Any ideas or tips on doing this job the "easy" way ? Thanks for any help.

the motor is mounted to a metal plate and that plate is held on to the heater with 5 or 6 screws. Once you got the screws out the motor and blower cage should pull out. You can probably do it without removing the dash but i found it easier to.
Be carefull not to push on the old hoses they are 30 years old and might split with the slightest touch.

For everyone's info. I installed my replacement blower motor that I bought from 4WD Hardware. It was very simple. No problems.....Trouble is, the new motor is only a single speed, and that SUCKS! The tech. guy at 4WD told me that only single sp. blowers are available as replacements.
I've got heat again, but when it gets really cold, I miss having high gear!!!!
I think I'll look around the junk yards and try to find a two speed that will bolt-up without any modification.
