Ill try to get a pic posted, I am installing the head on my f-134, and noticed(looking through inlet) a broke wire in the water jacket. I didnt read anything about it in the manuals, I was fiquring it might be a sensor of some type. Second Does anyone have a good picture of the top of the head with the head bolts installed. Reason is I need to see which bolts go through this mount piece, and carburator linkage.

Could it be a piece of the wire coil re-inforcement that some old radiator hoses used to have inside them? (Meant to stop them collapsing when bent.)

Or possibly an artifact of the casting process when the head was manufactured? I've seen something that looked like a piece of coathanger in a block, and that was my guess at the time.

I can't think how it could be a sensor, on an F-head.

No the temp sender is threaded and screws into the head. Not a wire.

I think PeteL nailed it. The coiled wire out of the hose.
