DJ-3A - front axle

    Anyone have any info on the front axle setup on the DJ-3A? Just curious how JEEP did it on the 2WD models...

    As I (vaguely!) recall, it's a live axle with two leaf springs, like a CJ-5. The axle has kingpins, an I cross-section, and dips to go under the oil pan. Maybe Jim (jpflat2a) will comment - he has a Surrey and should be able to post a pic.

    BTW I think some of the 2WD utility vehicles had a similar setup, and some had the A-arms like the Willys cars. I think I have a pic of the A-arm suspension somewhere... I found the picture. The "Planeadyne" suspension used a single transverse leaf and a single A-arm.

    this was easier than crawling under the Surrey
    these are also SUA and 4 bolt wheel pattern

    I presently have the front axle , rear diff and two 15 inch wheels that go on one . I had four vehicles back when .
