I emailed Rancho* a couple of times so far. With no R) answer. Any way guys, The aluminum spacers supplied with the lift kit are narrower (on the thick side)than the OEM cast iron units. Are the aluminum spacers meant to be used with the cast units or by themselves. :? It would seem that the added lift would justify the aluminum and cast wedges together to get the angle correct. Any thoughts? As soon as it gets to 35  degrees I'll be putting the rear axle in.

*By the way.. Rancho, take a hint.. Customer Service or the lack there of can cost you any more business.:(

Do not use aluminum degree wedges . over time they will crack in half and your axle will shift and could destroy other driveline components. Rubicon Express sells steel degree shims.

Assuming your Jeep is stock, I'm curious as to why there were shims to begin with.

My Skyjacker lift used aluminum shims for the rear axle. I haven't had any problems with them in a litle over two years. However, the aluminum ones I used in the front broke the first summer I used them. I replaced them with steel. It's sometimes difficult to find shims for the 1 3/4" springs, but you can use the 2" ones and just hit them with an angle grinder to allow the U bolts to fit past them.
