When did the rear side markers show up?

my ‘70 that was manufactured on oct 69 has the same thing

anyone have measurements from the front or rear of the hood to the mounting holes?
Hood mounted reflectors that have the thicker/thinner mounting.

I think when we talk about this subject we need to distinguish between reflectors and lighted marker lights. I get the feeling "markers" are being used for both.

 

Sure looks factory to me…similar to other phots I’ve seen. Reflectors would be easier for sure. The rear quarter panel driver side has two screws where a reflector might live also…I’ll research the vin and see if the date I was told is correct.

My vin falls in the hi end of 1966…so I believe the lights are original but the wire routing is kinda hokey…I’ll check them closer and see if the lights may have been added..

From what I understand, reflectors were added sometime in 1968 or 1969 and lighted markers were added mid 1970.

 

Does your hood have a snorkel cover plate on the right side? Early ‘66’s (and older) had this feature, but it disappeared in the ‘66 production run. Hoods can be swapped in a minute or two, so your hood could be off a ‘69, the only model year for factory hood reflectors.

My ‘70 CJ manufactured in Oct ‘69 has them.

I can take measurements when I get home this evening if that will work for you.

Yes, clearly a Jeep factory part number. Matches the era too.

Its great too see the original cup washers that hold the reflector on. These are almost always missing/lost.
