    Hello all

I have a question for you. I have a CJ-5 1977, with only a bikini top, no doors. I saw an add for a Bestop Supertop for a YJ or CJ-7. My question is : Is it possible to modify the YJ top to fit on a CJ-5 ?? I know the lenght is different, but is the side piece (the portion from the back to the opening for the doors) the same lenght ?? If not, do you know how much would need to be removed ???

Also, there is some soft doors. Is the upper part the same dimension on CJ-5 and YJ ?? How about window angle ???

At 300$ (canadian) for a top with 2 doors, I think it might be a good thing to ask..

I don't know, Bob. It seems like an awful lot of trouble to make that work. You'd have more $ invested in trying to fit it than waiting a little longer to find the right one.

I know I didn't answer any of your questions, but it was the first thought I had.

What Dennis said. I'd not even take a second look at it.

No, it wouldn't fit. Different length. I wouldn't spend the money for it.

If you look on here or jeep-classifieds.com you can find good new or used tops for anywhere from $250 to $450 US plus shipping of course.

Length is different. Doors are shaped different. Bows and hardware are not even close. That would be a HUGE pain to modify.

    Check out the following sites

    jeep-classifieds.com

    jeepforum.com

There are several people selling soft tops for CJ5's. Some of them brand new in the box for $450 which is about $100 toi $150 less than new.
