Doing a much needed lube job on my 5 rebuild project (might be drivable in a couple of months). Don't think some u-joints have seen new grease in years.

Anyway, I have not been able to get a grease gun onto the zert in the front u-joint. All the GG fitingd I have been able to find are too big. Do I have an odd u-joint? How do you all get grease to that fitting?

Seems I've been able to get those hard to grease ones by having the zert fitting pointing down and if needed jack the jeep up so the axle hangs lower.(pointing down on the diff side, up on the transfercase side) Might open up enough room to get the grease gun on the fitting. Either that or take off one end of the driveshaft so you can bend it enough to get to it.

Great Idea on letting the axle hang. I'll give it a shot. TNX

If that doesn't work you can get a blunt needle tip for your grease gun that fits into most u-joints.I had to get this to grease my 87 cherokee much easier than removing the driveshaft.I found it at wallmart cheap.
