I hate having the exahust exit just in front of the rear tire. I want to change it to rear exhaust, but I have an aftermarket gas tank in the rear between the frame rails. How much clearance from that gas tank should be maintained? If anyone has pictures of theirs, please post. Thanks.

Great pics. Thanks. Looks like exactly what I need to do (in order to stop breathing Jeep fumes). I was thinking of maybe adding a piece of metal along the side of the tank to act as a heat shield. Also, I suppose it's possible that while out wheeling, things could get bumped around and the exhaust pipe could get pushed up against the tank. I have a poly tank.

Mine exits just about the same place as Boyink's. Had it that way for about 2 years. Works well for me.

I also like to be able to push the Jeep back so the rear is sticking out of the garage door, then I can run the engine and not get the fumes in the garage.

Not at the moment -- and keep in mind between having the extra "CJ6-space" and with the different drivetrain I have (4.3/T18) it could be different from what you need.

It's pretty typical anyway...just down from the manifolds, the passenger side crosses over behind the t-case, and it goes out the back.
