2" square scrap tubing needed

    I am in need of a piece of 2" square tubing that is about 14" long for a spring Jeep project. Thin wall would be optimum, but beggars can't be choosers. Does anyone have a piece of tubng kicking around the shop that they'd like to sell? I haven't had any luck in finding a piece in the local scrapyards and the supply places want to sell it to me in 8' long pieces or longer. :rofl:

    i got a length of 1 3/4 square steel about 1/4 thinck ;) You are welcome to that if you cant find anything closer and maybe a bit smaller. this is a man's piece of steel :)

    Steve I've had good luck just walking in the shop (not office part) at the local steel places and act lost, when you talk to one of the guys just tell them you need a scrap piece and they will usually help you out. I know the one here they point me to a corner and say pick out what you need and go up front to pay for it ;)

    Probably not exactly what you're looking for ($$), but a good reference to keep:

    I had to use them for a piece of round tubing only a foot long, but 3/16 wall on 1 1/4 OD. Couldn't find it anywhere around here.
