Any of you guys ever swapped in a tilt column from a later model CJ into a 72-75? Just got finished swapping the P.S box onto my 72 and would now like to install the matching column. I think all this stuff is from a 77 CJ5. I would use the original column but the bearing at the top and the bushing at the bottom are shot. Any opinions on my situation would also be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The column in my 75 was swapped by the PO with a 76+ column. They did a decent job, but I think it could've been done better and neater. I had to do some re-enforcing of the column when I got it b/c it wasn't properly mounted. They put a newer model dash in also (76+) and I like it, although it lacks originality, it's a good conversation starter. I will try to get some pics up if you'd like.

One of the important parts you will need is the pedal setup with the mounts for the later column. The column bracket bolts to this and helps support things. I have a spare if anyone needs it.
