I do not think that I have every seen a complete original floor!

Just picked up a Jeep that included an uninstalled front floor that is what you discribe (also frome Krage). I think that it will save a bunch of work, but there is little on the tub that I have to hang it on.

You might try Jeep Panels Plus and see what they have. I hear they make their own parts, American made. Their website is hosed up, the only thing that works is the M37 and M151 links, and the photos don't enlarge, but the parts look good. I'd rather buy from a small-time American manufacturer than get the parts that are made in the Phillipines, and the prices are comparable.

They told me the reason they started this was the lack of good sheet metal parts and the poor quality of the imported stuff that was available. The guy said he uses original parts whenever possible as templates and duplicates them. If I need any parts when I get to the bodywork, I'm going to try them first. Probably the rear floor anyway.

Disclaimer: I don't know them, never been there, and haven't bought from them yet. Just info that I've gathered, I think I heard about them here anyway.

I used one of those panels in my CJ-6. Pretty much just dropped it in after removing the toolbox and what was left of the old floor. It was the best option for me at the time. Not too bad of a fit as I remember.

Thanks Brad , did it have the hat channels (frame work) on the bottom or did you use the existing frame work ??

I bought a rear floor panel for my '2A and it fit perfectly. Of course the green primer looked like it was put on with a trowel in places, but at least the panels weren't rusted before I could get them installed!

I have one of those that came with some other parts I got. Haven't installed it yet but will pass on these observations. Primer is junk, sand it off and use epoxy or similiar. Hat channels are there but take some time and reweld them on. Big globby spotwelds, some not on the two pieces they were trying to join together. Save your top panel if possible (the one highest up on the cowl) The repro panel only lines up with half the existing holes on the tub. Also, it has to come truck freight so factor that in as well. If you can fabricate and weld you can probably build your own for less. My .02

I would agree with SIDSCJ, if you could make the replacement panel better with a little work. And, you could probably make one as cheap and better quality. That is, if you have the tools and some of the knowledge needed. I were replacing the floor today I'd build my own. A couple of years ago though (few tools and even less knowledge), all I wanted was to get it drivable, quickly, here and now. Like I say, best option at the time.

As far as the floor, everything is there that you need. Keep your old tool box and the trans cover/center pieces if you can.

I have the exact floor. Just finished installing today. Not a bad fit. It's complete and very solid. Now I just have to do some geometry to get the xfer and clutch pedal holes cut in the right places.

I sandblasted the body after I installed the new floor panals.
I used panals from Classic Enterprises.

Hey I need to get some welding done on my 56 CJ5 and was thinking it would be a lot easier for the welder to work on her with the tub off the frame. Is there anything I should know before attempting to pop my tub off and set her on a trailer? Got to get my but in gear and get this done.
    Thanks for any info.

I wish that floor panel was available a few years ago! I used panels from Classic enterprises however, they didn't have the center tunnel section so I had to fab that portion myself. It came out ok and the tool box hides half of it so only someone who knows these Jeeps would ever notice it.

The website is not very describtive. What guage is the panels and did you get some of the hat channels too? What they offer looks good from what I can see though.

I'll have to check the guage, but they are pretty thick and not flimsy at all.

I did not get the hat channels but think I might now. I had read good things about them in the past.

A lot tof these type businesses don't do their own web work and don't really put enough info on them.

I don't know beans about it in particular but I doubt I could duplucate it and be happy with the results. Especially the center tunnel shape, lots 'o detail and in an obvious spot if it doesn't turn out.
