need help T18

    I have a freshly rebuilt T18 and everything works ok however every once in awhile it will stick in second gear and it is a real bear to get out. Any ideas as to what may be causing this? The rest of the time it shifts in and out real easy.

    Just taking a stab in the dark,Check for burs on the blocking ring and brass syncro. I had burs on my syncro ring and it was hanging up my t-90. 30 minutes with a small file it was like new.

    do you have original clutch linkage or wen to hydrolic? Try not pushing the clutch all the way to the floor and see if it will come out when hat happens.

    It’s the original clutch setup, I will give that a try.

    Many many years ago (teens), I rebuilt a T-90. When I re-assembled, I somehow had the gears lined up in the 1st gear position. I put the shifter cover on and proceeded to drive it. It would not come out of 1st gear. At a stop you could easily shift into any gear but once the vehicle moved under power, the tranny bound up. The fix was to remove the cover, roll the Scout in nuetral, then re-install the cover :? . It then worked perfectly.

    Maybe it was because it was a Scout R) .
