numbers on engine block ?

    Could someone please decipher this number/letter combination on
    the engine block. Located just below the 2 and 3 cylinder on a 75
    258/6........
    A
    11 15

    with the A being equidistant above/between the 11 and 15

    There should be a leading number, ie "8 A 11 15". "A" means a 258 with a 1V, "11 15" means Nov. 15. The leading number is the year code.

    Tim, you da man !!

    After closer inspection,in smaller script is the number 7 preceding the 11

    I assume that must mean 1975, right ?

    Glad you located the year code. However, 7=74. This is the build date code, not the model year, so Nov would be in the 1975 model year. The engine date should be around the same time as the assembly date.
