Acme Hard top parts

    I know hard top questions come up quite a bit, especially this time of year, but I need help. I am rebuilding my acme fiberglass hard top and am in need of some important parts. As always the door-handles-latches are always is poor shape on these tops and mine are too. I am in need of two working latches. Does anyone have some ideas, they do not need to be slam style latches but locking would be nice and the door hinges are missing so I got some stainless replacements but they arent close to the right size and create an inch gap. Anyone have a source? I emailed AJ's but no responce.. thanks all David

    Call? Are they still in business? I thought that we discussed it here before and I've read elsewhere they were out of business?

    <shrug> That's new to me. I read on a couple other boards when questions came up that they were out of business. That's not the old page so perhaps they're not but just seemed like they wouldn't answer e-mails if they weren't in business.

    Why I suggested calling -- so many small businesses that don't answer email even when they are in business. Try Walcks, for example...

    You might check with welding/machine shops that do custom fabs like truck toolboxes, welding truck beds, things like that. There's latches and stuff available that those guys have to buy from somewhere.

    If you do find a parts lead, post it. I need rear acme hinges for my HT and searched nearly everywhere with no luck. the CJ7 factory top hinges are way too big.

    Alright here is the update, thus far no leads. I still need door latches and hinges. AJ's phone number forwards you to some wierd service, so I am assuming that the number is no good. Any other ideas, still searching... thanks
