I was looking through some for sale ads and found a '74 cj5 chassis for sale. it includes the complete axles, frame, and wheels/tires. I really am interested only in the dana 30 front end for a potential conversion for my dana 25 years down the road. but the seller won't sell me just the dana 30. I am trying to gauge interest for the rear end and frame for a potential sale to recoupe some of the cost. what would a frame and centered 44 rear go for if i was to buy it all and sell those parts off? any ideas?

it was originally equipped with a 304, if that helps. i'm guessing 3.73? i don't know the intermediates that well.

i don't think the motor is part of the deal, only the parts i mentioned, but it maybe, i'll double check. if so, the motor/trans/tranfer case would be something i'd get rid of too if i end up buying it all...

Could be either - you'll have to check the tag. 3.73s were standard, 4.27s optional, and not linked to the engine type. My 258 CJ-6 had 3.73s and my 304 CJ-5 had 4.27s. If it's 4.27s, the axles will be more valuable.

If down the road means spring I will have a 30 available. Swapping in a 44 for the front 30 in my 79.
