I have a 4 inch spring over on my CJ-5 and i need new shocks. I have tweaked the jeep where one side was in the fender and one was on the ground and i measured the shocks. The short side was 12 and the long side was 14. is this the right approach???? any questions or advice for me thanks.

Measure the shock locations pin-to-pin with the Jeep sitting level.
Then review shock specs to find a shock where your measurement is about the middle of the range.
If you run appropriate bumpstops you'll want less compression and more droop, so you can size your shocks that way.

I like the adjustable 9000 series. The 5000 series are too stiff (IMHO) for these Jeeps.
