early dash pad install

Does anyone have a picture of how the dash pad installs on an intermediate CJ? I've got one with a sort of clip on the back (4 or 5 I think), but can't figure out how it would mount. Any help would be appreciated.

Are the tabs on the back of the pad supposed to screw onto the top of the windshield frame (by the defrost vents), or on the side facing the driver? It wasn't in place when I got the Jeep, and it came with a new w/s frame so I have no reference holes to go by

 

They screw into the top of the panel in between the defrost vents. The pad justs rests against the dash panel and the clips extend out at a 90 degree angle and sort of hang on the top of the frame. BTW mine was sooo ugly (in great condition, but UUUGLY) I took it off & tried to sell it on E-Bay...NO BIDS.

 

No bids? That's pretty bad. I would have thought it would be snapped up. I looked for 6-8 months before I found one, and it's going to need recovering. Thanks for the install tip. The tabs are bent flat on mine (due to shipping...it all makes sense now ). I couldn't for the life of me figure how they'd attach in the position they were. Thanks again
