258 temp sending unit...

    I have a mechanical temp gage i want to install on my 258, the electric unit is teeny and is sitting just above the fan belt on my 76 if i remember correctly. Where does one install the larger temp sending unit for the mechanical gage?

    I just put a mechanical temp gage in my engine today. There are 2 screw in heat risers on the side of the 258 (just below the freeze plugs on the drivers side of the engine). I removed the rear plug, screw in an adaptor and hooked my temp guage up to that.
