Rochester 2G float adjustment

    Last thing I need to do in this carb rebuild is to adjust the float. Instructions say to
    Problem is that there's no indicator lip or seam on my float to measure from like the diagram illustrates. My float sure doesn't look like anything like the diagrams in the instruction sheet!
    My float is pictured below. It looks like some funky rhomboid shape made of foam, and it's seamless. Soooooo....where to measure float level/drop from? :? Anybody else have the same float?

    used that one. measured the old brass one from the bottom of carb to top of float and bent the new one to fit. I also dropped it an extra 1/8" to prevent flooding over during off camber driving.

    Hmm, sounds good. Might have to yank the one off my '71 to see what's in there (brass or other). Thanks for the tip about lowering it, too. :beer:

    Drat, the '71 has the same gersh dern float! :mad: So there's no brass float to compare it to. :?
    I can't be the only person who's run across this. I'm up a creek without a "float". :D
    Anyone, anyone? Bueller?
