    Hi all,
I am trying to decide on which direction to go with the suspension on my 72 CJ5. I picked up a used Rough Country 3" lift lift for real cheap and was set on using it til started to size up a set of waggy springs I had lying around. I am already in the middle of stretching the wheelbase and body 12". I was looking at the waggy springs compared to the rough country and it is apparent the waggy springs are much softer. Based on the research I have done waggy springs appear to be a good choice for flex and ride. The only problem is are they worth the extra work to install them? I am already going to be moving my rear shackle and spring hangers back and extending the chassis so it seems like it would worth while to do all the fab work once and go with the waggy springs. However, if I use the lift I bought then the front is a simple bolt on deal and won't require any fab work. I am not looking for anyone to make my decision for me...just looking for some discussion. The other issue I see is that the extra fabwork will mean a longer time before I can hit the trail.

    Are the Waggy springs stock?
If so are you going SOA?
Me I'd use the RC springs. ;) I've been happy with mine.

Happy with the Rough Country springs??? I have heard they are really stiff. Not the case, or are yours broke in real good.

    The older ones were stiff.
My YJ got a set about 4 years ago and it took a few trail rides to sweeten them up.
    They flex very well now.
My last 5 had RC springs that flexed well also. They took a few hard trips to work in though.

Stock Waggy springs. Not going SOA. I know that this is not much to base it on but just by stepping on the springs it is clear that the waggy springs are softer. The RC springs are very stiff. 260 lbs standing on them and they don't budge. I am not sure how old these RC springs are. I bought them used.

i say use the rc springs if your staying spring under... they'll soften over time... when we did the yj 3.5" we actually got 5" and wouldn't budge... 2 yrs later she's down to 3.5 now... and flexes pretty good...

Well it seems like people here like the RC springs. Using them makes it alot easier for me because all I need to do is bolt in the front ones and move the main spring eye hanger and shackle hanger rearward 12" for the back. Alot less fab work and maybe if I am lucky this thing will be ready by spring.

    Thanks for the input guys.

Ok' sorry I'm dragging out this old post... but I have a set of 4 inch lift waggy spring - brand new and a set of yota axles + 36x12.50x15 ss tsl's... Gimmie some ideas... I would think that the waggy springs would be to stiff (and to big) but if I spring under the yota axles and run a high steer I would think the whole package might be ok??? Keep in mind this is a mall cruiser / fishing rig not to hard core..... I'm still kinda new with the jeep thing....:beer:
