    Hi all,
does anyone know if there are any manufacturers making fiberglass hard tops for CJ5's? I live in Oregon, and I'm a little tired of my Bestop peeing on me while I'm driving. Anyway if there is such a thing as a fiberglass hard top for a CJ5 please send me a link to their website, or phone #.

    Thanks........Wil.

ACME used to make them... nobody makes a hard top for us these days. you missed a sweet deal on ebay for a fiberglass top last month. it was in good shape and was in oregon. i was going to buy it but i had nobody to pick up and hold for me till i get home from a-stan (i am stationed at ft lewis, wa). when you look for one make sure its the right one... 1975 and under is different that 76 and up. the windshield rake and width is different on those CJ's. :flag:

    AJ's made them as well.

Windshield frames will swap. So if you really want one you can swap the WS frame to get a later hard top.

There is one for sale on www.eriejeeppeople.com in the marketplace/stuff for sale section. The seller is joe and jeep [not me]. Price listed is $500.00. I've got a factory steel/fiberglass top with steel "slab" doors available, but I think the newer, full fiberglass is the better way to go.

Hey thanks for the replies! A factory steel top would be fun to have for nastagia purposes, but I'd still want the full fiberglass top and I have no room for stuff as it is. Too many toys :) Anyway I'm glad to know that fiberglass tops do exist!

    Thanks......Wil.

While I was looking for some power steering parts for my 71, I talked to a guy who has a 79 cj5. he has a acme fiberglass top on his. He has a fiberglass body also. I looked at it and it had the swept back windshield, but the top hung off the back about 1 1/2 to 2 inches. The top also has a raised panel on the back for a tailgate. How can you tell what year these tops are made for?
