How many teeth are on the gear on the back of the tranny in the t-case? I have a 26 tooth gear on a T-14. From everything I find my jeep is rare. I thought the T-14 had a 29 tooth and the overdrive I bought is 29 tooth. I do not see a listing for a 10 spline 26 tooth overdrive on Herm's site. So now hat do I have other than a rare peice-o-crap that don't run? I done pulled all my hair out and still have a jeep that don't run. TNT is the next tool I'm buying.

hey 70cj5, you and i kinda got the same thing going on eh. i think the only way to solve my doubler delema is with a t-14 gear, just not sure thou cause i dont have one in my hand. how ever in my research i have found this out. used with d-18, a 29 tooth gear #18-8-50, used with a d-20, a 26 tooth gear #18-8-49. i found both with kaiser willys auto supply.

do you have your stuff apart right now? have a look at my post, gear question, ans see if you can shed any insight.

just thinking some more, might be the only solution to your delema might be to convert your case to a 29 tooth set up. i ended having to buy all the d-18 gears i needed when i did my 2.46:1 conversion on my d-20. all told it cost me $200 cdn, which i thought was an amazing deal. the gears came from omix-ada.

I had it apart. The tranny is in the jeep. I mounted the t-case and went to put the overdrive on in found this issue. Just rebuilt the tranny and t-case and with winter here and no garage this sucks bad. I thought about forgoing the overdrive for now and just getting it together but the nut I bought for the rear gear on the tranny is wrong and the old one (nut) is no good. If I can get the nut I can get it on the road and worry about the overdrive later.

Does anyone know the size of the nut on the back of the T-14 tranny? I'm thinking 7/8-14.
