Shims in a T/C secrets

    What is the secret to shimming a t-case. I take out an .008 and add a .012 and it changes .003. I have used all but 3 of the shims in the shim kit and the originals too (all in one stack) and have what seams to be an 1/8" of shims in the case right now and I get .003.:mad:

    Did you remember to give the shaft a wack with a rubber hammer? Not too hard. This will set the bearing and cup to the shims and then check the shaft for end play with a dial indicator. Remeber to wack both sides of the shaft.
