A short while ago I had to replace my radiator b/c it was plugged up. Now that its getting cold up here I have been thinking that my heater core is probably plugged up too. I have been thinking of removing it and filling it up with CLR (a lime/scale remover) to remove the scale buildup. Has anyone tried this or should I just get a new one ($110CDN).

BTW, although I like the Mojave heater, I am not interested in getting one right now as I want to see what I can do with what I have.

Well Karl, CLR is a whole lot cheaper than $110 CDN... (isn't it?? ;) :D )

Looks like you've got nothing to lose, if you're already positioned to buy a new core. Give the CLR a shot, see what happens.
If it works, you can buy the board a round  with the $$ you save :)

You could have it hot-tanked at a radiator shop too.

I had mine reconditioned at the radiator shop a few weeks ago. It only ran $35.

    Rocnrol,

I did not even think of going to those guys. There is one just down the street from me I will have to go and inquire. Hey would you know where a guy can get hold of a hardtop? Jeepstuff wants $1000 bucks for one. Thats too steep for me. We should hook up sometime and compare Jeeps and swap stories. What side of Calgary do you live in?

    Karl

PS. Thanks for the line on a heater core.
