The jeep veers to the right when i put the clutch in while cruiseing, being it changing gears, or going into nuetral at a stop light . Nothing that drastic but it veers. I am thinknig it is the locker in the rear. What sayeth you all?? Is it just the quirks of a locker.

FWIW, my rear locker doesn't cause my jeep to veer at all.

if it's the locker it should do it when coming off the gas as well, at least that's what my cherokee does. it's an auto, but you can still feel it a little bit.

might be the clutch/brake shaft isn't lubricated?? i know i had a problem of the brake pedal going in with the clutch pedal for a little while... maybe it's pushing the shoe out just enough to get into the drum.

::edit:: i think i remember seeing hanging pedals in a pic before?? that would blow my stuff right out the window. if that were the case i'm lost.

it doe sveer a little if i am in gear and let off the gas, but just a touch. i do have to take it in for an alignment.

    Yup, hanging pedals here.

Check tire pressure also. Equal tire pressure side to side is pretty important for street driving otherwise the larger tire is trying to push the jeep a farther distance than the shorter (read lower pressure) one. It's not uncommon to have a little veer with an automatic locker like a Detroit, Lock-Rite, Aussie-Locker, etc. Also check things like U-bolts front and rear, tie rod ends, spring bushings, etc. Nickmil.

Are your front shocks in good shape, mine were worn and was letting the front of the jeep drop a little when stopping or letting off the throttle causing the drag link to steer to the right.

The shocks are in great shape. I will tighten down the ubolts, i have to shorten them a touch so i will be down there. I have had that happ;en to me before and jeep did drive weird, only caught it when i was doing something with the steering and i saw the axle flexing in the bolts.

    Thanks guys!!

Someone on this forum had a similar problem, they found the spring eye bushings shot. Check those.:hurrican: Ditto on the locker driving habits, tire pressure helps.

I would suspect a brake dragging - Just my guess:?

Did you check tire pressure as Nick suggested?
