I screwed around with it for a while last night and nothin'. The old noggin can't remember how it went and the FSM & Early CJ book just don't show it close enough (for me). I know there are just a few parts but................:D

This is the 48 or similar.

    Thanks,
    Rit

    Jim,
Thanks. I've been wondering the same thing, just haven't gotten to it yet.
Are parts still available for a rebuild of it?

some of the linkage parts might be found as used items only

Thanks Jim. It was that brass arm and sprung screw that spreads the shoes I couldn't figure out. It all seems so simple when you get it together.:D

The tranny/box I just put in is '59 but it looks pretty close. I like the way mechanics stamped the date on the casing when it was built (or rebuilt?).

Check w/ Herm. He carries all the parts. Getting ready to call him myself
    for parking brake parts.

This weekend I just happened to pick up Chilton's for the early CJs and they have beautiful diagrams/pictures of all of the brakes assembled. Good engine assembly and brake pics but not much else.
