:? Anyone have a clue where I can find an emergency brake pedal assembly for a '74? All 4WD has is 76+. The PO(optional S) tore off the old pedal, warped it and has a giant rubber band to release the whole thing. Something tells me it might not hold up in the long term.

Have you tried Walck's or Krage?

My guess is that there is some minor difference between the two parts, and that you could make the '76-on part work. I think the pedal unit is the same across the Jeep line. I could post a picture of the pedal unit from my truck if it will help.

I used one from a '76 and later model on my '75 and modified it to work. Had to add a few holes to the tub - not a problem since it was 'glass, but I did have to strengthen it with plates. I didn't think it was too difficult to make work. Give 'er a shot. If you find a standard footpedal at a swap meet or on ebay for cheap, all the better. I got a used one from Krage for $5.

Thanks guys, I'm gonna keep on looking and maybe I'll get lucky. I've got a steel tub, so I would really like to avoid cutting. If you hear of anything, please let me know.

Tim, that pic would be great. I assume it looks similar to my old YJ, but a pic to print out would help a lot.

Sure, though I'm pressed for time this morning. It'll have to be this afternoon (if I get home before dark) or tomorrow.
