My clutch is almost gone I think. When I go up a hill its slips bad also it does not engage until the pedal is almost all the way up. Can I adjust it for the time being until I get it fixed (6 months) with that adjustment thing that goes from the bellcrank to the clutch fork thing that goes into the bellhousing. The rod is threaded so that leads me to believe its an adjustment. Its not my daily driver I just want to make it driveable around town. Thanks for the help.

Yeah, adjust it till you have an inch or two of free play at the pedal.

I was having the opposite issue with mine (wouldn't dis-engage until you put the pedal almost through the floor). Seemed to happen all of a sudden. Adjusted the clutch a couple months ago and has been working fine ever since.

Now, however, I have a whole new set of issues as I carted my Jeep home on the back of a tow truck last night...almost wishing I still only had a problem with the clutch

I just bought mine last night. Brought it home on a tow dolly not in bad shape just needs some TLC. Good luck with yours.

Clutch adjustment is a reasonable thing to do. Wear of the linkage and bellcrank bushings is a problem on these Jeeps though - you can get a parts kit to replace the parts that wear. Disassembly, inpection and lubrication would be a good idea. http://www.jeepdoc.com/catalog/partframe.asp?id=5483
