drag link tube wants to be in the 24" range, minus ends
tie rod tube wants to be in the 38" range, minus ends
    what do yours measure?

either cut them down and get them threaded, or maybe make your own with tubing and threaded inserts. way cheaper than the machine shop charge

If you know what you're doing with a welder, cut it down and weld it back together...but only if you're 100% positive you can weld it correctly.

first off, measure what length you need in case someone out there has on that length.

next, if you have a lathe available, or know someone with one, make an insert about 1-1/2 inch long that is a tight fit inside the rod tube, cut the rod in the middle, remove as much as you need to, insert the insert and push the two ends together leaving about a 1/16 gap, weld up the gap and VIOLA you have the right length... $.03

i would put a d30 axle under there (it will come with the correct tie rod)
and get rid of the d27. :D

I would either have them shortened and re-tapped or buy Herms kit, welding steering components like tie rods, pitman arms and such is illegal in most states.

taps an 11/16 x 18 if'n you want to go that route... and if the other link is anything like the one i bought last week there's more than enough space to hack the ends off a bit and still have the full collar on it (bot sideswere sticking out a good inch of threads when bottomed out. beware though, round these parts that's a special order tap (37 ish from mcmaster if i remember correctly)

I opted for Herm's tubes and they fit perfectly, and the cost was reasonable.
