confused!!??

Okay, think I solved the oil pressure thing...now something else has happened....I have a 60 cj5 with an f-head...it was running but would pour alot of gas into the motor and die. well..the other day it did just that...died...today I took the YF carb apart for about the 75th time...found that the metering rod seat (if that's the right term) was a little crooked and not all the way in...fixed that...also took the little ball bearing and hit it with a hammer...then put the needle back in...I also changed cap, rotor, points, condensor and wires,,,plugs were not that old.....now....I either get backfires out the carb..just loud "phooffss"....or it back fires out the tail pipe that sounds like a .30-06....can't get it to run any more.....think I might take
a sledge hammer to it and see if that helps....any idea what going on???????????

 

Seeing that you changed the dist cap, I'd guess that you accidentally messed up the firing order. Check it over and make sure it's right.
