Got a 71 CJ5 and the left front tire def. has something wrong w/ it. The top leans out about 1" further than the bottom and the steering is definately off a bit. I believe it is the kingpin/ball joint but don't have the experience to know if that is true or not. When the jeep is on jacks I can wobble the tire with no problems at least 1-2". Thanks for any help in identifying the problem. The axle looks straight, it's the knuckle area that is causing problems.

Sounds like the king pin bearings need to be gone through and the wheel bearings checked while you're in there.

What should I be looking for? They looked fine when I replaced the seal kit visually. No gouging of the metal, bearings looked good as new.
