ok, so here is my problem (actually anybody who wheels has the same issues.
i want to get a better crawl ratio in my 1957 cj5 f134, t90, d18 w/ 5.38s'. so i was thinking could i install an atlas t/c? i know that the d18 has an offset output and the atlas doesn't but????? could i do it? do you know anybody who did?

i really wanted to find a t98 and use my d18 but . . . i can't find one. unless somebody has one they want to sell me??

anybody have any ideas? i did look into the tera low kit but it doesn't lower my crawl raio enough.

    thanks for any help

Yeah, you could do it. The easiest way would be to change the rear axle to a centered pumpkin; D44 from an intermediate CJ will work. They are fairly common. Of course, you'll have to change the gears in the axle to 5.38.

How much does an Atlas case cost? $2000? I'd think if you'd wave that much money around, you'd find a T98 setup for an F134. How long have you been looking?

Plus you have to buy the adapter for the t-90 to the atlas which I believe runs a d-300 bolt pattern. So your going to have another couple hundred bucks on top of the price of the atlas. I agree with Tim, just put a WTB ad here and one will pop up.

Doesn't Advanced Adapters have a new T/C coming out this fall called the Orion that's supposed to be a direct replacement for the D18? That way you can keep your offset rear axle...

You're just a little bit late...check the FS section...there's a T98 for the 4 cylinder with adapter to the T90 for sale there now...but two people have already spoken for it.

Do they make a T90 to atlas adapter? I am not sure they do, because that would probably maek teh T90 the weak link when gearing that low.

I think Jack O'Brien makes both 4.10:1 and 4.86:1 gears for the D18. Although I don't think you can run an OD with these gears. I heard that they go for around $1500 or so.

Some guys were talking about them on the CJ3B page. Here is some info that they posted...
    O'Brien's 4 Wheels West at 916-773-3278
    or
e-mail is Jack@unlimited.net or 4wheelswest.com, his phone is 916-782-3778 (after 6:00PM Pacific time.)

That web address doesn't seem to work any more.
