Has anyone converted the old 6 volt point type distributors
to use the GM HEI module. If so what parts did you use
    pickup, trigger etc.
Thanks in advance for your help

    Which engine? F-head I'm guessing?

I've heard of someone doing some light machining and putting a GM 4 cylinder HEI head on a F-head distributor shaft.

But HEI won't work with 6 volts.

It has been converted to a 12 volt system already. I was just wondering if anybody has scrounged the parts to see what would work in the jeep distributor.
I have a idea on what I'm going to use I just thought someone may have done this already and would save me the time of scrounging around the junkyard to find the correct reluctor parts that would fit. I want to use a GM HEI module, I am mainly looking for a trigger mechanism that will fit under the Jeep Distributor without too much modification.

    Thanks, Jim Adams

Most people just use Pertronix (WARNING!!! I'm still under the assumption that it's an F-head since you've not stated otherwise) in a F-head.
